Bile Duct and Gallbladder
 | The gallbladder is a small sac that lies under the liver and near the stomach. Linked by small ducts to the liver and small intestine, it is part of the digestive system – the gallbladder, liver and pancreas as well as the digestive tract (mouth, esophagus, stomach and large and small intestines). The gallbladder acts as a storehouse for bile, the substance needed to digest fats. After you eat a meal, your gallbladder empties bile into the intestine to help you digest your food, especially fats. |
